Roblox is an online game and app where you can create your own games or play games that other users have made. Roblox allows users to chat to other gamers.

In general, Roblox offers an enjoyable and, with appropriate supervision, a secure gaming experience for children. Given that the Roblox Community includes participants of various ages, it's crucial to monitor whom children and young individuals are communicating with. For any online game featuring chat functions, it's essential to review and adjust privacy settings. Additionally, setting screen time limits serves as an effective measure to prevent excessive gaming habits.

Users can embrace an immersive Roblox adventure with virtual reality (VR) options like Oculus Rift, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2, Quest 2 with a link, HTC Vive, and Valve Index on Windows PCs. While these devices enhance gameplay, it's crucial to be aware of potential risks associated with VR in the Roblox environment. Stay informed about safety measures, age-appropriate content, and ensure responsible usage to make the most of the VR experience on Roblox.

Virtual Reality (VR) can provide immersive experiences but poses risks for children. Prolonged use may lead to physical discomfort, eyestrain, and motion sickness, particularly harmful to developing eyesight. VR can contribute to social isolation as users become engrossed, affecting real-world interactions. Content exposure risks include age-inappropriate material, and privacy concerns arise from virtual interactions and the creation of avatars. Excessive VR use at a young age may impact cognitive and social development. Supervision, age-appropriate content selection, and privacy setting adjustments are crucial to ensure a safe VR experience for children.

While users have access to numerous games without any cost, the platform introduces its own currency known as "Robux." This currency enables users to acquire extra features such as avatar upgrades. Additionally, children may express interest in subscribing to the Builders Club, offering enhanced features through a membership fee. Parents should advise children to be cautious if offered free Robux in Roblox. Emphasize stranger danger and the risk of scams. Teach them not to share personal information and to report suspicious activity. Encourage open communication about online experiences and remind them to seek help if they feel uncomfortable.

​Additionally, a significant concern for parents regarding Roblox involves user-generated games, often referred to as "condo games." These games can include adult content, such as simulated sex acts, graphic images, and inappropriate language. Due to the platform's open content uploading system and limited in-game moderation during interactive sessions, there is a potential for a wide range of content during gameplay.

SAFETY TIPS TO CONSIDER:

• Visit the 'Parental Guide' and learn about features and controls. 
• Must ensure privacy settings are being used. You can see how to do this by visiting 'Parents, Safety and Moderation'.

• Make sure that children always use their device in a room whereby adults are present.
• Discuss 'friends' - there is no such thing as an 'internet friend'. Encourage children and young people to only engage with other users whom adults know in the 'real-world', and that they know and trust.
• Use protection settings, such as time limitations, or only allow usage with parental guidance.
• Outline clear rules for your children. Pay attention to their development. As they get older, they should generally be given more freedom. Communication will also become more important as children get older. Explain that you are not trying to control them but want to agree upon a set of ground rules.
• Try to stay up-to-date on Internet trends and best practices.
• Talk to your children about the risks of disclosing personal data.
• Have open discussions with children and young people about the topics associated with online use - bullying, grooming, sexual and criminal exploitation, body image, as well as accessing support and how to report.
