WHAT IS IT? Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action-adventure game set in the American Wild West, following Arthur Morgan, an outlaw, as he navigates gang life, survival, and personal dilemmas in 1899. WHAT WE SAY: Avoid. 🔞Exposure to Inappropriate Content Since Red Dead Redemption 2 is an online multiplayer game and features intense gunfights, brutal combat, and violent scenes, including the killing of humans and animals. Very strong language frequently appears in dialogue. 💸 In-Game Purchases Red Dead Redemption 2 does not have in-game purchases for the single-player campaign. However, Red Dead Online, the multiplayer mode, offers in-game purchases for cosmetic items, currency, and other content through microtransactions. Online play also allows players to purchase gold bars using 'real-world' money. 💬Direct Messaging and Chat Red Dead features direct messaging and chat. Players can communicate with each other through text chat, voice chat, and private messages while playing in the multiplayer mode. Since it's an open chat system, players may encounter inappropriate language, toxicity, or harassment. 🧑💻 Online Predators and Grooming Players can interact with others through voice and text chat, which may lead to inappropriate conversations or predatory behaviour. 📱 Cyberbullying and Harassment Some players may engage in aggressive or inappropriate behaviour, making the game less enjoyable or even unsafe for others. 🔓Scams & Account Theft Red Dead has had issues with scams, but they mostly happen outside the game through phishing attempts, fake giveaways, and account theft. 🚨Violence against Women & Girls There are moments where women are victims of physical abuse, kidnapping, or exploitation, often in the context of the lawless environment. Characters discuss sex frankly, and prostitutes can be found in towns. |
