Good Aspects of Life360

Life360 offers precise, real-time location tracking, allowing parents to see their child’s exact location on a map. This is highly effective for tracking family members’ whereabouts and ensuring everyone’s safety.

Geofencing and Location Alerts
This app allows parents to set up geofences around specific locations (like home, school, or work) and receive automatic alerts when a family member enters or leaves those zones. This feature is ideal for tracking routines and knowing when children arrive at or leave key places.

Location History
Life360 lets you see a continuous timeline of a person’s movements, showing where they go and how long they stay at each location. The Life360 Trend Among Young People
A growing trend among young people is using Life360 with friends, not just family. While this can support safety - helping teens check in during travel, events, or social outings - it also raises important considerations. Location sharing has become a sign of closeness, which can create pressure to remain “visible” to peers and contribute to feelings of FOMO (fear of missing out). Continuous tracking may also cause stress or anxiety, and in some cases, enable controlling or coercive behaviours in relationships. While Life360 can be a useful safety tool, it is unusual for young people to always share their location. Parents, educators, and carers should have open conversations about boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships, promoting digital safety, privacy, and autonomy.
