WHAT?
KIK is a chat app that has many anonymous accounts and is easy to sign up for using false details. The BBC have reported there have been over 1,110 child abuse cases on this app in the last few years. GOOD OR BAD? Bad. We are told 9.3 children are groomed online every day in the UK. KIK is one of the most common apps where there are grooming issues, as this BBC article suggests. Apps where anonymity is an option are never going to be a safe haven for children. |
