FALL GUYS
MINIMUM AGE: PEGI 3+
WHAT IS IT? Fall Guys is a bright, fast-paced, multiplayer party game where players control colourful, jellybean-like characters and compete in whimsical obstacle courses and mini-games. Up to 40 players compete in real-time, and only one is crowned the winner per round. It’s available on consoles and PC and is free-to-play. WHAT WE SAY: Safe, however always consider our safety tips . 🔞 Access to Inappropriate Content Fall Guys itself is designed to be family-friendly, and there is no explicit content in the game. However, since it features an online multiplayer mode, there is a possibility of encountering inappropriate content through interactions with other players in the chat (if they use voice or text chat). 💬 Direct Messaging and Chat Fall Guys has no in-game text or voice chat. This significantly reduces the risk of direct contact from strangers. However, players often use third-party apps like Discord, PlayStation Party, or Xbox Chat to coordinate with friends, which can reintroduce those risks. Tip for parents: Keep communication to trusted friends only. No chat = safer gameplay. 📱 Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is minimal within the game itself due to the lack of chat. However, griefing (e.g., grabbing, blocking progress) can occur in-game and frustrate players. Outside the game, bullying can occur on social platforms or Discord servers if your child engages in communities. 🚨 Online Predators and Grooming The risk is low within the game itself due to the lack of private messaging and chat. However, predators may attempt to contact kids via external apps linked to Fall Guys (e.g., Discord, Reddit, Twitch, etc.), especially if the child uses or shares their gaming usernames elsewhere. 📢 Age Verification & Account Safety Fall Guys requires an Epic Games account, but age verification is not enforced rigorously. Kids can falsify their birth date to bypass child restrictions or privacy protections. Epic Games does offer parental controls, but they must be manually enabled. Tip for parents: Set up the Epic account for your child and enable restricted accounts, friend limits, and purchase approvals. 🔐 Privacy Concerns Usernames are public in every match. If your child uses their real name or identifiable information in a username, it’s visible to everyone. There’s also a growing community of YouTubers and streamers; kids might unknowingly appear in public videos or streams. 💸 In-Game Purchases Fall Guys is free-to-play, but filled with microtransactions. Players are encouraged to spend money on skins, emotes, celebrations, and season passes using the in-game currency Show-Bucks, which is purchased with real money. The shop rotates frequently and uses psychological tactics like FOMO (fear of missing out) to drive spending. 🔓 Scams, Unsafe Links & External Risk While the game itself is safe, kids can still be exposed to scams outside the game, especially from YouTube videos or social media posts promising "free Show-Bucks" or exclusive skins. These are almost always scams meant to steal login info or direct users to malware. |
🛡️SAFETY TIPS:
📲Understand the game Familiarise yourself with the games features and how they work. Knowing how the app works will help you guide your child effectively. 👨👧Parental supervision Check their interactions and adjust privacy settings accordingly. 💸Limit In-App Purchases Set spending limits or disable in-app purchases on your device to avoid accidental or excessive spending. 🚨Avoid Unofficial Downloads Stick to downloading the game from official sources (like the App Store or Google Play) to avoid malware, data breaches, or compromised versions. 📢Underage Accounts This game might have an age restriction but it lacks a proper age verification process. Therefore, there’s little stopping users from faking their dates of birth or creating bogus profiles and targeting children and young people. 👥Manage friend requests Teach your child only to accept friend requests from people they know in real life. 📷 Cover the Webcam When Not in Use Physically cover your camera when you're not ready to go live. Always be mindful of what’s visible in your background—it can reveal location clues. 🧠 Trust Your Instincts If something feels uncomfortable, it is uncomfortable. Leave the chat immediately and don’t engage with users who seem suspicious, aggressive, or inappropriate. 🖥️ Place Devices in Shared Spaces Keep internet-connected devices in living rooms or kitchens, not bedrooms. This makes risky behaviour less likely and easier to notice. 🙋♀️Conversations: Have open discussions with children and young people about the topics associated with online use - bullying, grooming, sexual and criminal exploitation, body image, as well as accessing support and how to report. 🚨 Know the Signs of Trouble Watch for behaviour changes—like anxiety, secrecy, mood swings, or suddenly deleting apps. These can signal something inappropriate happened online. FURTHER SUPPORT: For parents/ carers If you're worried about your child or need support call NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000. If you discover criminal content when online then report it directly to the police or the Internet Watch Foundation. If you're worried about online grooming or sexual behaviour online then report directly to the police or contact CEOP.
